We are looking for a sharp, reliable and fast Digital Content Writer to join our growing newsroom team. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with solid experience in digital newsroom operations, a nose for news, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality stories. Versatility is key — from writing to digital sourcing to basic video work.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, pitch and develop compelling digital news stories daily.

Write clear, timely and engaging articles across multiple beats.

Monitor trends across social, web and data platforms and source stories using digital tools.

Shoot and edit short digital videos for news and features.

Manage content distribution across social media platforms and understand best practices for each.

Collaborate with editors and work efficiently in a fast-paced digital newsroom.

Ensure accuracy, balance and adherence to high journalistic standards.

Requirements

Experience in a digital newsroom or journalism background.

Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clean copy consistently.

Digital sourcing and verification skills (social listening, OSINT basics, online research).

Ability to shoot and edit digital video (mobile or camera).

Familiarity with social media distribution networks and audience engagement strategies.

Versatility across topics and willingness to learn new tools.

-Familiar with Nyanza, Ukambani or Pwani.

Compensation
Starting NET salary: KSh 30,000 per month.
