Kenya Power announces planned power maintenance for February 25, 2026

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance works set for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, affecting several counties across Nairobi, North Rift, Western, Mt. Kenya and parts of the Coast regions.

The planned outages, which will run between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. in most areas, are part of ongoing network upgrades and maintenance aimed at improving reliability and stabilising electricity supply.

Nairobi and Kajiado Counties

In Nairobi County, power interruptions will affect parts of Westlands, including Brookside Drive, Matundu Lane, Brookside Gardens, Mua Park and Grevilia Groove from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Areas along Riara Road and sections of Ngong Road will also experience outages within the same timeframe. Affected locations include Oloitoktok Road, parts of Gitanga Road, Quickmart Gitanga Road, Mararo Avenue, Argwings Khodek Road, Ole Dume Road, Harlequins Court, Mash Park Hotel, Impala Club, Kenya Science College, and Telkom Ngong Road among adjacent customers.

In Kajiado County, Kitengela and surrounding estates will be without power from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed include Capitol Hill, Kursan Quarry, Almond Grove, Kenpipe, KUSCCO, Milimani Orchard, Milimani Homes, Sinkeet, Vineyard School, Old Namanga Road, Bible College, Thorn Grove, Raregem, Olive School, Nafaka, Status Villa, Ola Petrol Station, Delta, Royal Gates and New World.

North Rift and Western Regions

In North Rift, parts of Nandi County including Ndalat and Kabiyet will experience power cuts from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Mlango, Kabiyet, Chepterwai, Ndalat, Kaiboi, Kamasai, Sangalo Factory, Tirin, Kaplemol and Mutwot.

In Uasin Gishu County, Mlango Oletepes and surrounding areas such as Kabuluwo, Racecourse Dispensary, Kimuri, Kabongo, Cheplaskei, Outspan, Rehema, Ancila, Barakaland, Chepkigen, Plateau Station, Eldoret Bypass, Chepyakwai, Koibasui, Airport Centre and Kipsimoo will also be affected between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

Western Region will see outages in Kisumu County in Kianja and Nyabondo areas, including White Cotton, Great Lakes University, Kajulu Water Gita Market and surrounding customers. Kibos area, including Kibos Sugar, Angira School and Guba Market, will also be affected.

In Kakamega County, Lutaso, Nambacha Market, Nancy Academy and Dorofu will be without electricity during the same hours. Parts of Bungoma County, specifically Chebukaka and Teremi, will experience interruptions from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., affecting Terem Power, Chebukaka Girls, Kaptakeny Market, Makhonge Market and Toyowandet Market.

Public Advisory

Kenya Power has advised customers in the listed areas to plan accordingly and treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period.

The utility company regularly conducts system upgrades, line maintenance and network expansion works to enhance service delivery and accommodate growing electricity demand across the country.

Normal power supply is expected to resume immediately after completion of the scheduled works.
