Security crackdown boosts stability in Trans Nzoia

Date:

Douglas Kanja Lagat has praised the ongoing security operation in Trans Nzoia County, saying the exercise has helped improve stability and restore public confidence.

Speaking during an assessment of the operation, Lagat said security agencies had intensified efforts to combat criminal activities and maintain peace in affected areas.

He noted that the operation is part of broader government measures aimed at protecting lives, property, and livelihoods.

“We are seeing positive results from the operation, and security agencies remain committed to ensuring peace and stability,” he said.

Multi-agency teams deployed

Authorities said the operation involves multi-agency teams working together to address insecurity and criminal activities in the county.

Security personnel have been conducting patrols, intelligence-led operations, and community engagement initiatives to strengthen public safety.

Officials noted that collaboration between police officers, local administrators, and residents has been critical to the success of the operation.

“We are working closely with communities because security is a shared responsibility,” Lagat added.

Residents urged to support security efforts

Residents have been encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information that could help prevent crime and improve response efforts.

Security officials emphasized the importance of community policing and early reporting of suspicious activities.

“Public cooperation is essential in ensuring that criminal elements do not find safe spaces within our communities,” the official said.

Local leaders welcomed the continued operations, saying they had contributed to improved security and reduced fear among residents.

Government pledges continued vigilance

The government says it will sustain the operation to ensure long-term peace and stability in the region.

Officials also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening security infrastructure and enhancing coordination among agencies.

National Police Service representatives said additional measures are being put in place to prevent criminal activities and improve rapid response capabilities.

“We will continue to remain vigilant and ensure the safety of wananchi,” Lagat said.
