Residents and businesses in parts of Kericho and Kwale counties are expected to experience scheduled power interruptions on Monday, May 11, as maintenance works on the electricity network continue.
The planned outages will affect selected areas in Kipkelion, Diani and Horohoro for several hours during the day.
Kipkelion Areas to Face Day-Long Outage
In Kericho County, the interruption will affect parts of Kipkelion from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Areas expected to experience the outage include Chepseon Market, Kedowa Market, Kipkelion Town, Fort Ternan Market, Barsiele, Liloch, Toroton, Gokul Quarry Kipkelion, Mtaragon, Kamuingi 1 and 2, Makutano Market, Kiploki, Gwitu Village, Mumberes, Mlango Moja, Mlango Tatu and Gatarakwa.
Businesses, schools and households in the affected areas have been advised to make alternative arrangements during the maintenance period.
Diani and Horohoro Among Areas Affected in Kwale
In Kwale County, the planned maintenance will affect parts of Diani and Horohoro between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
In Diani, the outage will affect Darling, Tukutane, Nairobi Homes, Naivas, Ostrich, Markaz and neighbouring customers.
Meanwhile, in Horohoro, areas expected to be affected include Horohoro Border Post, Lungalunga Market and Lungalunga Hospital alongside nearby customers.
Maintenance Aimed at Improving Supply Stability
The maintenance exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and stability of electricity supply in different regions across the country.
Motorists, traders and residents in the affected areas are encouraged to plan ahead, especially businesses that rely heavily on electricity during working hours.
