AIPCA Bishop assures Ruto of Mt Kenya’s support ahead of 2027 polls

Date:

A Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) cleric from Gatundu North has publicly assured President William Ruto of Mount Kenya’s continued political support, dismissing claims that the region may withdraw its backing ahead of the 2027 general election.

Rt. Rev. Bishop Simon Karatu made the remarks while speaking during a church service on Sunday, where he affirmed that residents of the Mount Kenya region remain firmly behind the President. He described Ruto as a father figure who listens to and understands the concerns of his people.

“As our father, we shall bring all our needs to your attention because you love us. Some people were saying that our President Ruto should forget Mt Kenya votes. Mt Kenya is us,” Bishop Karatu said.

The cleric went on to pledge that the region would not only vote overwhelmingly for President Ruto but would also turn out early on election day to demonstrate its support for his leadership. He urged the President not to be anxious about his political standing in the region, reiterating unwavering loyalty.

SOLIDARITY

“We want to assure our President that the person who was claiming that we shall not give you our votes should know that early in the morning, we shall vote in our President to continue with the work,” Karatu added.

As our father, we shall bring all our needs to your attention because you love us.

He concluded with a message of reassurance and solidarity: “Amen, President Ruto, you should not worry. We love you and we shall continue with this journey together.”
