David Munyua
Trending at #1 , David Munyua made history by becoming the first ever Kenyan to compete and win a match in the PDC World Dats Championship.
Munyua came back from 2-0 down in sets to beat World Number 18 Mike De Decker in round one at the Paddy Power World Darts Championships.
The 30-year-old qualified for the World Championship after beating Cameron Carolissen in the final of the African Darts Group Championship qualifier.
Munyua will play either Kevin Doets or Matthew Dennant on Monday.
The veterinarian who started playing three years ago had to appeal for sponsorship to cover his flight and accommodation costs, and achieved the historic win using a set of budget-friendly darts borrowed from fellow player Cam Crabtree who was eliminated in his own first-round match.
President William Ruto wrote “You have also made history for Kenya as the first Kenyan to compete in the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in London, and announced your arrival on the global darts stage. As you advance to the next stage, know that the nation stands behind you. Bring the trophy home”
Singapore

Trending at #2, Kenyans continue to compare Singapore’s milestones to those made in the country so far as President William Ruto’s administration still insist that the National Infrastructure Fund and the Sovereign Wealth Fund will propel the country into a First World status.
Linus Kaikai on the popular #CitizenNewsGang said “What else is troubling about the Singapore experience? Do we know how small Singapore is in terms of size compared to Kenya? Singapore is a city-state, a very small country that is 50 km in diameter which is like Nairobi to Thika. Singapore is nearly 800 times smaller than Kenya. There is a script as to how Singapore became what it is today. When you look at their script, some of it is about meritocracy. I hope we can have less noise about Singapore and do what we need to do to be like Singapore”
Waiguru National Calling
The hashtags #WaiguruNationalCalling and #DaughtersOfKenya also sparked debate online after Kirinyaga County Governor, Anne Waiguru was declared ripe for a national leadership position come the next general elections.
While meeting members of the Daughters of Kenya Movement, Waiguru challenged women to occupy leadership spaces saying “No position is reserved for men. Leadership is a democratic right, and women must be present at the tables where decisions are made.”

Duchess of Machakoshire @Joyree_Wambua wrote “The journey from Kirinyaga to the national decision table is fueled by a commitment to excellence. Governor Anne Waiguru is ready, and the women of Kenya are standing with her”
