Condolences messages stream in for Justice Mohamed Ibrahim
Kenyans took to social media to eulogize Supreme Court Judge Mohamed Ibrahim who passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, shortly after 4:30 pm at a Nairobi hospital.
Chief Justice Martha Koome described him as a jurist of exceptional humility and integrity, a steadfast guardian of constitutionalism, electoral justice and human dignity.
“On behalf of the Judiciary, the Supreme Court of Kenya, the Judicial Service Commission, and on my own behalf, I convey, with profound sorrow, the news of the passing on of Hon. (Mr.) Justicе Mohammed Kadhar Ibrahim, Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary and JSC during this moment of immense loss,” she said in a statement.

An accomplished and industrious son of Kenya has rested, but his immense influence on the country’s legal and judicial system will permanently impact on many for generations to come”

He was detained in the nineties for challenging discrimination, against kenyan Somali’s by rules demanding screening before issuance of Identity cards”
The 69-year-old judge is survived by his wife and four children.
Jirongo’s Autopsy Report
Kenyans keenly followed and kept the conversation around Jirongo’s autopsy trending. The autopsy revealed the former Lugari MP died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Doctors led by Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor said his body had multiple fractures saying the impact was too severe and led to Jirongo’s death.
Three doctors were present to respresent the family, after growing concersn by the public over Jirongo’s death.
The doctors revealed that legs, ribs, and the spine were affected, including heavy bleeding into the abdominal and chest cavity that caused his death.
Jirongo was involved in a deadly accident on Saturday in Naivasha, and will be laid to rest on the 30th of December in Lumakanda, Kakamega County.

ODM- Kenya Kwanza Alliance
President William Ruto while speaking during the 5th Piny Luo Festival in Migori County, urged ODM to build a strong party ahead of the 2027 politics saying it would ensure that the alliance between ODM and Kenya Kwanza forms the next government.
“If you organise ODM to be a strong party, I will organise UDA to be a strong party so that we can unite and form a government through mutual agreement,” he said.
Ruto said the flourishing of the country’s democracy depends on strong national political parties that unite Kenyans across the board.
Oburu Oginga said ODM is fully in the broad-based government,adsing that ODM will work with the ruling coalition to form the government in 2027.
Oburu is hopeful that this will give the party a greater stake in government, commended President Ruto for giving ODM positions in Cabinet even though the party did not vote for him in 2022.

Anxiety as Ministy of Education to release school placements on Friday
The Ministry of Education through PS Julius Bitok said Grade 9 learners will be able to know their senior schools placements on Friday.
According to Bitok, the learners will be able to know the schools they have been placed in by using Short Message Service (SMS) to send their assessment numbers to 22263.
