Governor Sakaja’s payroll review seeking to weed out ghost workers

The employees are expected to submit their documents through their respective sectors for later review by the Board and have been asked to treat the communication with urgency and ensure compliance within the set timelines.

A notice signed by the agency’s CEO and Secretary indicates the exercise formed a basis of plan to verify academic and professional papers for all employees on the county payroll.

ZERO CORRUPTION

“The exercise is aimed at updating records and ensuring all details held in the county payroll system are accurate,” the notice read in part.

The process follows an earlier instruction from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) through August 21, 2025 communication REF: EACC.7/10/1 VOL XXV25.

The staff have been warned against giving out money, facilitation fees or any form of payment to individuals who may promise to fast-track, influence or assist with the verification exercise.
