Kenya Power announces scheduled power interruptions in Nairobi, Migori, Nyeri and Kisii

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Migori, Nyeri and Kisii counties on Friday, February 13, 2026, as the utility undertakes routine maintenance works on its distribution network.

In a public notice, the company said the outages will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in the affected areas to allow for system upgrades and repairs aimed at improving reliability and stabilising supply.

Nairobi Region

In Nairobi County, customers along Lang’ata Road will experience power interruptions. Affected areas include parts of Wilson Airport, Skyward Airlines, Dam Estate, Rubis Petrol Station, Uhuru Gardens, Deliverance area, Maasai Estate, Jonathan Ngeno Estate and Breeze Estate.

Kenya Power also announced that the whole of Kibiku, Mihango and Utawala will be affected during the same hours. Areas listed include LMCP Twiga Kayole, Royal Court, Mihango Primary School, Kenya Builders Quarry, PEFA Comboni, Mihango SDA Church, Mihango City Water Tank, Deliverance Church Petunia, Quickmart Mihango, Borehole Water-Kiguatha, Gesora Road, Empire Court, Roseville Mihango, CDF Bridge Shamy Quarry, Mama Teresia Court, Immaculate Primary, Kujani Court, Rockside Academy, Brown Sugar, St. Lukes Ruai West, St. Comboni Gate Rophine, Field Junior School Ltd, Vision Road, Penda Place and adjacent customers.

Other listed areas include Sunny Side Karagita Road, Mihango Assumption School, Hurlingham Road, Nyoro Construction, Neema Road Utawala, Victoria Court, Kangaroo Court, Redeemed Church, Boston High School, V Mall, Riverside, Royal Ambassadors, Maono Prayer Centre, Corradin Road D, Mihango East, Mihango Dispensary, Sunnyside Mihango, Gesora Road, Saints Revival Church and Texas Gardens.

Migori and Kisii Counties

In Migori County, areas in Osiri, Macalder and Muhuru will be without electricity. Customers around Gogo Power Station, Macalder Mines, Osiri Market, Muhuru Bay, Nyakweri Market, Sori, Lwanda and neighbouring areas are set to be affected.

Meanwhile, in Kisii County, parts of Nyamache, Nyoera and Igare will experience outages. Kenya Power listed Nyamache Tea Factory, Borangi, Kegochi, Matierio, Nyamache Hospital, Mochengo, Nyoera, Tukiamwana, Igare, Emenwa, Nyamagwa Boys, Boitangare, Kiobegi, Nyabite and Nyamache Market among the affected locations.

Mt. Kenya Region

In Nyeri County, customers in Kiawaithanji and Mutathini will also be affected. The outage will cover Gachima, Kiawaithanji Market and School, Mutathini Market and School, Tetu Tea Factory, parts of Mugwathi Village, Kiriti Village and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power advised customers to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period and said supply will be restored once the works are completed.

The company regularly schedules such maintenance to upgrade infrastructure, connect new customers and enhance the stability of the national grid.
