Rigathi Gachagua and wife Dorcas’ Christmas message to Kenyans

Date:

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his spouse Pastor Dorcas Gachagua have released their festive season message to Kenyans.

Gachagua in a 2-minute video clip noted that 2025 has been an eventful year for the nation with many challenges, but acknowledged that God has been gracious to Kenya.

“Dear Kenyans, on this festive season my family and I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy year 2026. The year 2025 has been eventful for our nation, there were many blessings to our families and many challenges as well. Despite the challenges God has been gracious to our nation”, he said.

Gachagua called on Kenyans to be peaceful and embrace sharing in the festivities, reminding travellers to observe safety.

“During the festive season, I call on you all to be peaceful and celebrate with your families, neighbours and friends. To those travelling upcountry, take care and be safe”, he said.

Pastor Dorcas Gachagua added “As Christmas marks the end of one year and points to the beginning of another, we would want to remind you that your Christmas and expectations and all that you need, God will provide for you”

She encouraged Kenyans that despite the challenges that they have gone through this year, God is going to make their lives better and asked that God be center of all resolutions they would make.

“It is a cheerful moment for you and your family. As Luke 2:6-14 says, Jesus was born in a challenging and humble circumstance reminding that the location is not a barrier to God’s presence”, she said.

“Rejoice always because a unto us, a child is born, the saviour of the world. Merry Christmas and happy new year 2026”, the two added.

The former deputy president was impeached in October 2024 and replaced by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki. He is currently the leader of Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) which he launched in May 2025 and has been actively leading opposition activities in the country.
