1. John Tingoi
The Computer Science graduate from Chuka University made headlines across the world after beinf ranked second runner up in the 2025 International Quant Championship held in Singapore.

Tingoi, who finished third globally out of more than 80,000 participants from across 142 countries in the world won a prize money worth $7,000
The competition, organized by WorldQuant BRAIN, tests skills in finance, statistics, and programming. Before the international stage, Tingoi beat over 9,000 participants in Kenya.
Hemerged as one of Kenya’s brightest young talents, bringing global recognition to the country through his achievements.
2. Elly Savatia
Elly Savatia is a Kenyan innovator credited for the development of Terp 360, an AI-powered app that translates spoken language into sign language using lifelike 3D avatars.
Through the innovation, Savatia was recognized and awarded the 2025 prestigious Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation, along with £50,000 to scale his life-changing work.

Through the Terp 360 project that focuses on Kenyan Sign Language (KSL), Savatia and his team recorded over 2,300 locally used signs to ensure the app reflects the cultural and linguistic context of Kenya, rather than relying on foreign sign-language models.
The app has transformed classrooms, healthcare centers, and workplaces, allowing deaf and hard-of-hearing Kenyans to access information, education, and essential services more easily.
He is a 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow, Presidential Innovation Award winner, Commonwealth Secretary General’s Award for Innovation winner, Unicef Generation-Unlimited Innovation Challenge winner and his works recognized as Top 11 AI innovations in Africa.
3. Wanjira Wanjiru
Wanjiru Wanjira is a grassroots activist and co-founder of the Mathare Social Justice Centre as well as the Matigari Youth Book Club.
She is pursuing a BA at the University of Nairobi and co-hosts the Liberating Minds podcast on YouTube and SoundCloud. In 2020, she was nominated as Human Rights Defender of the Year for her work raising awareness about extrajudicial police killings, and her activism has been featured in Al Jazeera’s Generation Change, The Guardian, and The New Humanitarian.

Her influence grew further during the Gen Z–led protests of 2024, where she became a visible figure in demonstrations against police brutality and the Finance Bill 2024.
Wanjira stands among the leading voices for social justice, legal empowerment, and civic engagement in Kenya’s younger generation of activists. In 2025, she has spearheaded several nationwide campaigns, including efforts to decriminalize poverty-related offences, push for electrification in informal settlements, and advocate for youth rights in urban areas.
4. Emmanuel Wanyonyi
The 21-year-old was crowned the 800m World Champion at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan in September 2025
Aside from his exploits at the Tokyo Championships, Wanyonyi secured victories at the Monaco Diamond League in July and the London Athletics Meet in September, achieving a world-leading time and a meet record, respectively.

He further showcased his versatility in middle-distance events, triumphing in both the 1500m and the Road Mile at the Kingston Slam in Jamaica earlier in April.
Wanyonyi was crowned the 2025 World Athletics Male Track Athlete of the Year and has been a source of inspiration to young people across the country.
5. Faith Cherotich
The 21-year-old athlete rose to fame for her success at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and the Paris 2024 Olympics
At Tokyo, Cherotich won gold setting a new championship record of 8:51.59 in the 3000 steeplechase.
Cherotich successfully defended her Diamond League crown for the second consecutive year, securing Kenya an additional wild card entry to the World Championships.
Earlier in the season, she triumphed at the Bislett Games in Oslo, clocking a world-leading 9:02.60 to defeat Olympic champion Winfred Yavi.

6. Kerry Mwita
Kerry Mwita is an award-winning Kenyan human rights activist and youth leader, recognized for his advocacy on social accountability, gender rights, and sexual and reproductive health
He has notably championed the establishment of gender justice courts in Migori County to ensure timely justice for survivors of Gender-Based Violence, the majority of whom are women.

Before her ordination, Rev. Kiarie served in various church offices. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity at St. Paul’s University, later advancing to a Master’s degree in Theology.
As an Anglican priest, she is a passionate advocate for climate and political justice and has established herself as a strong opinion shaper on youth and advocacy matters.
8. Joseph Nguthiru
Joseph Nguthiru, a graduate of Egerton University, is the founder of HyaPak Ecotech Ltd, a circular economy start-up that transforms the invasive water hyacinth weed known for choking water bodies such as Lake Naivasha into biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics, including seedling bags and packaging materials.
He has gained global recognition for pioneering the restoration of aquatic ecosystems by tackling two pressing environmental challenges: invasive species and plastic pollution.

Nguthiru also co-founded M-Situ, an AI-powered early-warning system for detecting deforestation and wildfires, as well as AfroClimate, a non-profit organization that empowers climate entrepreneurs.
In 2025, he was named a UN Young Champion of the Earth by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). He also received the prestigious Prototypes for Humanity Award at COP28 in Dubai.
Additionally, he is a recipient of a Presidential Award for Best Innovator in Kenya and was recognized as the Best Innovator in the Republic of Kenya by the East African Community.
9. Hanifa Farsafi
Hanifa “Farsafi” Adan is a Kenyan activist who rose to national prominence in 2024 for her pivotal role in raising 31 million Kenyan shillings during the anti-finance bill protests.

In the film, Ademba, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism recounted the harrowing experiences he faced while assisting injured Kenyans. Speaking to BBC Africa, he described witnessing the deaths of several young people near the parliament buildings and reflected on the psychological trauma of that moment.

His role as a “journalist on the ground” marked a shift in the coverage of such events, underscoring his emergence as a significant new voice in the media industry.
Since then, Ademba has leveraged his social media platforms to advance activism and inspire young Kenyans to push for better governance.
11. Xenia Manasseh
Xenia Manasseh’s impressive career includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Juls, Mr. Eazi, Tay Iwar, and Sauti Sol, bringing a refreshing perspective to the Afrobeats, Afro R&B, and Afropop scenes.
She has lent her vocals to albums by celebrated acts including Sauti Sol and Burna Boy, and co-written as well as provided background vocals for tracks on Teyana Taylor’s The Album. In 2023, she contributed to R&B icon Brandy’s Christmas album, further showcasing her multifaceted artistry as both a writer and performer.

Xenia has also garnered acclaim for her solo work, with her albums Love/Hate Part 1 and Part 2 debuting in 2023 to widespread praise. The projects earned her recognition on Spotify’s Radar program and placement on major global R&B platforms and playlists such as BET Soul.

Maxwell Opondo is a 21-year-old Kenyan innovator, founder and CEO of Zerobionic, a Nairobi-based tech startup which has combined artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to create life-changing solutions for persons with disabilities.
In 2025, Opondo won the Young Tech Innovator Award at the Africa Tech Summit after developing a motorised prosthetic arm that translates spoken words into sign language in real time.

The innovation which is powered by AI algorithms and sensory integration, aims to bridge communication barriers between the hearing and the deaf communities.
In 2024, he was crowned at the Reimagine Education Awards 2024 as a Gold Winner for developing robotics solutions that make STEM education accessible to students with hearing impairments.
13. Aldrine Kibet
At only 19, Kibet plays as an attacking midfielder for Spanish club RC Celta Fortuna on a four year contract.
Kibet who was part of Kenya U20 that qualified for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Cairo, Egypt, in May 2025 rose to prominence while representing St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale at the 2023 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Games in Kakamega.

In 2023, he moved to Spain and joined Nastic Sports Academy before his move to RC Celta de Vigo.
Kibet has also represented Kenya at the youth level, featuring for the U18 and U20 national teams. He was the Golden Boot winner at the 2023 CECAFA U18 Championship after finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
14. Shakira Wafula
Shakira Wafula rose to prominence during the June 2024 Gen Z protests, where her courage in the face of police resistance captivated the nation.

In a viral video, she was seen boldly declaring, “I am here for my people, I am here for your rights. Nitoe! Nitoe baba! Sitoki!”

15. Ryan Ogam
The 20-year-old Kenyan forward currently plays in the Austrian Bundesliga for Wolfsberger AC and represents the national team, Harambee Stars.
He began 2025 on a high note, winning the LG/SJAK Sports Personality of the Month award for December, setting the stage for a successful year that culminated in his recognition during Mashujaa Day celebrations on October 20.

17. Kasmuel McOure
Kasmuel is one of the young activists who emerged as a leading face of the Gen Z protests in Kenya, following the enactment of the controversial Finance Bill, 2024 by Members of Parliament.
He was among those who spearheaded the anti-government movement, both online and on the streets.

Beyond activism, Kasmuel is a prominent Kenyan musician and music educator, widely recognized for his involvement in youth movements.
He joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to champion youth participation in politics and is the founder of Maskani Big Band, KasKazini Muziki (a music school), and KasKazini Peanut. He also serves as a Partnerships Associate at Global Citizen and is an outspoken advocate for mental health.
18. Nikita Kering
