The Makueni County Public Service Board has announced 46 job opportunities across six county departments, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply before the July 15, 2026 deadline.
The vacancies span senior management, education, agriculture, legal services, finance and water sectors as the county government moves to strengthen service delivery and expand its workforce.
In a public notice, the board said full job descriptions and qualification requirements are available on the County Public Service Board website as well as at county government offices, the County Assembly and designated public notice boards.
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications, academic certificates and professional credentials no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Vacancies by Department
Office of the Governor
The county is seeking four officers in the Governor’s Office, including:
- Chief Officer, Public Service Management
- Chief Officer, Planning, Budget and Revenue
- Chief Officer, Health Services
- Information Officer II
Finance, Planning, Budget and Revenue
The department has one vacancy for:
- Member, Makueni County Executive Audit Committee
Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operative Development
The largest share of openings falls within the agriculture sector, with 21 positions available:
- 9 Assistant Agricultural Officer II posts
- 7 Assistant Livestock Production Officer III posts
- 1 Co-operative Auditor I post
- 2 Veterinary Officer posts
- 1 Assistant Fisheries Officer III post
- 1 Human Resource Assistant III post
County officials say the recruitment is aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and supporting farmers across the region.
ICT, Education and Internship
The education department has advertised 16 vacancies for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) instructors:
- 5 ECDE Teacher III positions
- 3 Assistant ECDE Teacher II positions
- 8 Assistant ECDE Teacher III positions
Office of the County Attorney
One position has been advertised for:
- Chief Legal Officer
Water, Sanitation and Irrigation
The department is recruiting three officers:
- Senior Inspector (Drilling)
- Senior Support Staff
- Support Staff

The County Public Service Board emphasized that all applications must be received by July 15, 2026, warning that late submissions will not be considered.

Growing Recruitment by Counties
The Makueni recruitment drive comes as several county governments continue expanding their workforces. Recently, Mombasa County announced dozens of vacancies across health, agriculture and education sectors, while other public institutions have also launched recruitment campaigns targeting professionals in various fields.
County officials say the new hires will help improve public service delivery and support the implementation of development programmes across Makueni.
