The Public Service Commission (PSC) has launched a fresh recruitment drive, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply for 130 vacancies in public universities, government ministries and state agencies.
In a notice published on Monday, July 21, the Commission announced openings for senior university leadership positions, diplomatic service officers, correctional services staff and a board member for the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below,” PSC said in the recruitment notice.
Vacancies available
The recruitment covers a wide range of positions across the public service, with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs accounting for the largest number of openings.
Among the advertised vacancies are:
- Vice Chancellor – Bomet University (1)
- Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Planning) – Technical University of Mombasa (1)
- Deputy Vice Chancellor – Kabarnet University College (1)
- Deputy Principal (Academics, Research, Extension and Student Affairs) – Kabarnet University College (1)
- Deputy Principal (Administration, Planning and Finance) – Kabarnet University College (1)
- Member, Board of Directors – National Government Constituencies Development Fund (1)
- Foreign Service Cadet/Third Secretary Cadet – Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs (100)
- Hospitality Officer I – State Department for Correctional Services (5)
- Instructor II – State Department for Correctional Services (20)
The 100 Foreign Service Cadet positions represent the largest share of the recruitment exercise.
How to apply
PSC has advised interested applicants to visit its official website to access detailed job descriptions, qualifications and application requirements.
Applications can be submitted through the Commission’s online jobs portal.
Candidates may also deliver their applications by hand to the Office of the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer at Commission House, off Harambee Avenue in Nairobi, or send them through registered mail addressed to the Secretary/CEO of the Public Service Commission.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline indicated in the official recruitment notice.
Documents required
Candidates shortlisted for interviews will be required to present original copies of several documents for verification.
These include:
- National identity card
- Academic and professional certificates, including transcripts
- Relevant testimonials and supporting documents
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) tax compliance certificate
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) clearance certificate
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) clearance certificate
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance certificate
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Certificate of Good Conduct
- Recommendations from relevant professional bodies, where applicable
- Recommendation letters from at least three referees submitted separately to the Commission

The Commission urged all qualified candidates who meet the requirements for the advertised positions to submit their applications through the prescribed channels.
The recruitment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen staffing across government institutions, public universities and key state agencies while enhancing service delivery to Kenyans.
