The government will donate 200 computers to Homa Bay County as part of efforts to expand digital access and equip learners and young people with technology, Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke has announced.
Speaking during a thanksgiving and prayer service for Homa Bay Woman Representative Joyce Atieno Osogo Bensuda in Karachuonyo Constituency on Sunday, Isaboke said the initiative is aimed at narrowing the digital gap and strengthening digital literacy in the county.
“The donation is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote access to technology in Homa Bay, particularly among learners and the youth,” Isaboke said.
The event brought together ODM leaders, county officials and residents, with leaders using the occasion to emphasise unity, collaboration and inclusive development.
Leaders call for unity
Isaboke urged leaders to embrace servant leadership and work together to accelerate development in Homa Bay and across the country.
He congratulated Bensuda for her public service, praising her commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community through inclusive leadership.
ODM leader Oburu Oginga described the gathering as a demonstration of the unity within the party’s leadership in Homa Bay, saying cooperation among leaders remains key to advancing development.
He also urged leaders and residents to continue speaking with one voice, noting that peace, stability and unity are essential for political progress and economic growth.
Wanga praises Bensuda
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga commended Bensuda for her leadership, describing her as a dedicated public servant who has championed inclusivity and community empowerment.
She said the gathering reflected the county’s united leadership and reaffirmed the commitment of ODM leaders to continue working together ahead of future political engagements.

The thanksgiving service attracted several political leaders, including Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang’, Homa Bay Town MP George Kaluma, Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala, members of the Luo Council of Elders, MCAs and other ODM officials.
The leaders concluded the event by pledging to strengthen partnerships, promote peaceful coexistence and support development initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of Homa Bay residents.
