The Kenya Police Service has urged the latest cohort of police recruits to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism as they prepare to begin their careers in law enforcement.
Speaking during the full dress rehearsal parade for Recruit Course 1/2025, the Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service Eliud Lagat said the nine-month training had equipped the recruits with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to undertake diverse policing duties while respecting the Constitution, the law and fundamental human rights.
Mr. Lagat described the rehearsal as a historic milestone for both the recruits and the Kenya Police Service, noting that their graduation would add a new and vibrant workforce to the Service at a time when the country continues to demand effective policing and enhanced public security.
He commended the Parliamentary Select Committee on National Security for supporting the recruitment and training programme through adequate funding, saying the Committee’s intervention had played a critical role in enabling the cohort to complete its training.
