Kenyan TikTok sensation Azziad Nasenya is staring at the auction of her high-end Kileleshwa apartment after defaulting on a KSh25 million mortgage, in what marks the latest twist in the 25-year-old influencer’s turbulent rise to fame.
A notice by Okuku Agencies Auctioneers lists her four-bedroom unit with a servants’ quarter at Platinum Oak Residency for sale on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Jeevan Bharati Building in Nairobi. The plush apartment, located in one of the city’s most desirable estates, is among the luxury properties now under the hammer.
The looming sale is a blow to Nasenya, whose meteoric career took off in 2020 when a video of her dancing to Utawezana went viral on TikTok, earning her the tag “Kenya’s TikTok Queen.” Her popularity opened doors to acting roles, including in the TV drama Selina, as well as radio jobs and lucrative brand endorsements that positioned her as one of Kenya’s top digital influencers.
But behind the glitz, Nasenya has recently faced growing questions over her finances. Businessman and influencer Madollar Mapesa earlier this month leaked WhatsApp chats in which she allegedly admitted owing him KSh3.5 million, of which she claimed to have repaid KSh2.5 million. Other claims of unpaid debts have swirled, painting a picture of financial overreach.
The pending auction reinforces those concerns, with analysts noting that defaults in Nairobi’s luxury housing market, while rare, often stem from young professionals taking on heavy loans to sustain high-end lifestyles. For Nasenya, the prospect of losing her home threatens not only her finances but also the aspirational brand she has carefully built online.
The influencer has not publicly commented on the auction listing. Fans and peers, however, have expressed sympathy, citing the uncertainty of entertainment and influencer income.
With the October 8 auction date fast approaching, all eyes will be on whether Nasenya can negotiate with her lenders to avert the sale—or watch her prized Kileleshwa residence fall to the gavel.
