Health Cabinet Secretary Adan Duale has warned Private and Faith-based hospital facilities from recruiting government hired doctors and medical officers to work on their facilities.

The CS who was speaking in Tharaka-Nithi County during the opening of the Chuka Level 5 ICU and Amenity Ward noted that some of the doctors have been sending patients to their privately owned facilities, which the CS termed as fraud.
CS Duale urged medical practitioners to uphold standards envisioned in the licensing and practice of their profession, demanding for discipline in the health sector.
According to the CS, the Ministry of Health will starting January embrace the Practice 360 app to ensure loopholes among health workers and facilities are sealed.
The Practice 360 app is geo-fenced to health facilities and allows healthcare workers to manage SHA pre-authorization claims directly, and will be used to prevent unauthorized code sharing and strengthen accountability in service delivery after replacing One Time Passwords (OTP)
“SHA will only reimburse claims authorized by Practice 360 and in facilities where the doctor is employed”, CS Duale said.
The app is designed to increase clinical value and practice efficiencies in Electronic Medical Record and will identity authentication and link approvals to where services were rendered.
It will also allow healthcare workers to view, approve, and manage pre-authorization claims digitally.
CS Duale announced that a total of 28.2 million Kenyans are currently registered, more than half of the country’s population.
