Abdullswamad rallies ODM base with ‘TUTAM’ chant, declares party ready for comeback

Date:

Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir has declared that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is regaining its political strength, describing the party as a “sleeping giant” ready to rise as the ‘TUTAM’ momentum gains traction.

Speaking during a vibrant political convention in Kilifi County, Nassir said ODM’s strength remains firmly rooted in its people and unmatched grassroots structures.

“ODM is not just a party; it is a sleeping giant, grounded in the people and ready to rise,” he said.

ODM’s grassroots strength across the country

Nassir emphasized that ODM’s influence stems from its deep organizational structures that stretch from national leadership to polling stations across all 47 counties.

“With structures that run from the national leadership all the way to the polling station across all 47 counties, and a membership of over 8 million, ODM remains the most formidable grassroots movement in Kenya. This is not by chance—it is by design,” he stated.

According to the governor, this extensive network has enabled the party to remain connected to wananchi and responsive to their needs, even amid shifting political dynamics.y

Kilifi convention signals renewed unity

The convention, hosted by Gideon Mung’aro, brought together more than 150 aspirants and grassroots delegates in what leaders described as a show of unity and renewed political energy.

Nassir praised the organization of the event, noting that it reflected a clear sense of purpose within the party.

“The energy, unity, and clarity of purpose were unmistakable,” he said.

He also lauded the leadership in Kilifi, rallying support with the chant:

“Mungaro ni TUTAM!”

The event was attended by key ODM figures, including Hassan Joho, signaling coordinated efforts to strengthen the party’s coastal stronghold.

‘TUTAM’ message and ODM’s political direction

The ‘TUTAM’ slogan is increasingly becoming a rallying call within ODM circles, symbolizing confidence, readiness, and political ambition.

Nassir reiterated that the party’s mission remains focused on delivering real change for Kenyans.

“Our mission is clear: to actualize the hopes and aspirations of Kenyans and translate them into real, tangible progress. That commitment remains firm,” he said.

He concluded by expressing confidence in ODM’s future, emphasizing unity among leaders and supporters.

“With Waziri Hassan Joho, and with the people—ODM is ready.”

Political observers note that the growing ‘TUTAM’ wave could shape ODM’s strategy as the party positions itself for upcoming political contests.
