Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting several parts of the country on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, to allow for routine maintenance and system upgrades.
In a notice issued on Monday, the utility company said the interruptions will run mainly between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., depending on the area, and will affect parts of Nairobi, Rift Valley, Western Kenya, Nyanza, Mt Kenya, Coast and North Eastern regions.
Nairobi Region
In Nairobi, parts of Karen and Lang’ata will be without electricity from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Affected areas include Muiri Road, CITAM, Njumba Moja Road, Bomas of Kenya, Forest Edge Road, Lang’ata Substation, Mokoyet East and West, Mukinduri Road and Crescent, Muiri Close, Murishu Road, Forest Edge Grove, Amara Ridge and surrounding customers.
North Rift Region
In Trans Nzoia County, power will be interrupted in Murkwijit and Tartar areas between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Murkwijit, Lutheran, Super Form, Kwa Chief, Tartar, Keringet, Cheptuya, Adurkoit, Kamorrow and neighbouring customers.
Western Region
In Kakamega County, parts of Kaburengu will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., including Kaburengu, Chimoi, Manda, Luandeti, Chekalini, Bishop Njenga Girls and adjacent areas. Parts of Namulungu, including Mirere, Namulungu, Kholera, Namalenge and Namanga, will also experience interruptions.
South Nyanza Region
In Kisii County, electricity will be interrupted in Ogembo and Ikoba areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting parts of Ogembo Town, Nyabisingo, Egetuki, Nyaburumbasi, Ikoba and surrounding areas.
In Migori County, the outage will affect Kokuro and Gamba, including Kokuro Market, Kokuro Secondary School, Nyatambe, Gamba, Side by Side, Odongo Aero, Oboya and adjacent customers.
Mt Kenya Region
In Nyeri County, parts of Wahundura and Gakindu will be affected between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., covering Maganjo, Gakindu, Tambaya, Kaheti, Mbari ya Ngai, Kiawamururu, Ningaini, Ndiani, Githagara, Wahundura High School, Kibithe Village and neighbouring areas.
In Kirinyaga County, outages will affect parts of Kutus Town and Ahiti Ndomba, including Kabatiro Village, Ahiti Ndomba Institute, Kithiriti Village, Kariiri Market, Kangai Market, Ndaba Primary School and adjacent customers.
North Eastern Region
In Kiambu County, power interruptions will affect Wangige and Gathiga areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., including Njonjo Farm, Wangige Hospital, Wangige, Kibiku, Gathiga Market, Otani Residence, Kessel Homes and surrounding areas.
Coast Region
In Kwale County, electricity supply will be interrupted in Mshiu, Lunga Lunga and Horohoro from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting Mshiu, Mwangwei, Majoreni, Mrima, Lungalunga, Vanga, Horohoro and adjacent customers. Parts of Msambweni and Sawa Sawa Beach, including Vingujini, Sawa Sawa Beach, Msambweni Referral Hospital, Msambweni Beach House and KMTC Msambweni, will also be affected.
In Mombasa County, parts of Spaki and Swale Nguru Road will experience power interruptions between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Affected areas include Total Energies Spaki, Afyafirst Medical Centre, Al Hudaa Mosque, Hawa Butchery, Timber Cyber, Toronto Spare Parts, No Lads Engineering, Eclipse Auto Spares, Dock Workers Union, parts of Swale Nguru Road, Baringo Street and Luhar Wadhaa Street.
Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to improve service delivery and ensure network reliability, adding that normal power supply will be restored once maintenance works are completed.
