Kenya Power announces scheduled outages in Nairobi, Kajiado and Kericho

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Kajiado and Kericho counties on Monday, February 16, 2026, to facilitate routine maintenance and network upgrades.

In a public notice, the utility said the outages will run between 8.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., depending on the location, and are aimed at improving reliability and stabilising supply.

Nairobi Region

Pangani Area

Residents and businesses in Pangani will experience power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Affected areas include Forest Inn, Forest Road, Mbono Road, Pangani Shopping Centre, Agoi Road, Ndovu Inn, Pamba Road, Premier Academy, Jubilee HQtrs and adjacent customers.

Akiba, Kabiyet Area

Also affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. are customers in Kabiyet and Akiba.

The outage will cover Kabiyet, Akiba, Moi Educational School, Civil Servants, Uhuru Camp, Langata Deliverance, parts of Dam Estate, Uhuru Camp Police, Total Gas Station, Mbagathi Road, Jonathan Clog School, Airport View Estate, Bible Society, parts of Langata Road and neighbouring premises.

Parts of Kajiado County

Ilasit Area

In Kajiado County, electricity supply will be interrupted in Ilasit and surrounding areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

Areas scheduled for maintenance include Loitoktok Town, Tarakea, Ilasit, Kimana, Rombo, Elerai, Isinet, Namelock, Inchalai, Itilal, parts of Mbirikani and adjacent customers.

Central Rift Region

Parts of Bureti, Kericho County

In Kericho County, sections of Bureti will experience power interruption from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Affected areas include Jamji Powerhouse, Jamji Tea Factory, Changoi Tea Factory, Kipkereny Village and surrounding customers.

Kenya Power has advised customers to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period. The company noted that electricity supply will be restored immediately after completion of the scheduled works.

The utility regularly conducts system maintenance to upgrade infrastructure, connect new customers and enhance stability of the national grid.
