Kenya Power Announces Sunday Power Interruptions in Five Regions

Kenya Power has issued a power maintenance notice informing customers of planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026, across several parts of the country.

The outages will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. to allow for network maintenance and system upgrades, the utility firm said.

Nairobi Region

Areas: Part of Mombasa Road, Likoni Road

Customers in the following areas will be affected:

Balozi Estate, Express Kenya, Engineering Development, Joakim Estate, Tile & Carpet, Parkside Towers, Panari Hotel, Embassy Court 1 & 2, Popote Wireless, Nyanza Petroleum, Diamond Estate, East African Spectre, Vita Foam, parts of Road C, Red Cross, Nakumatt Head Office, Odds & Ends, Caltex Mombasa Road, Vision House and adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

County: Trans Nzoia

Area: Kitale CBD

Kitale Central Business District and adjacent customers will experience the interruption during the scheduled hours.

Western Region

County: Kisumu

Area: Kisumu Concrete

Affected areas include Simbi Village, Kapsorok, Uzima Chicken, Chepseng’eny School, Kapsorok Market, Kisumu Concrete, Kapsorok Concrete and surrounding customers.

Mt. Kenya Region

County: Embu

Area: Part of Embu Town

Power will be interrupted in areas including Old Naivas, Magunas, Wakogoto Building, Chrismit Hotel, Tenri Hospital, Meru Stage, Kwirimia Hotel, Beekay Hardware and adjacent customers.

Coast Region

County: Kilifi

Area: Malindi Airport, Kijiwetanga

Customers around Malindi Airport, Kwa Chocha, Msabaha, Baraka Chembe, Malindi High School, Kijiwetanga, Thalathameli, Akaye and nearby areas will be affected.
