Kenya Power has announced a planned interruption of electricity supply across multiple regions in the country today, affecting parts of the Mt Kenya, Coast, North Rift, Western, and South Nyanza regions.
The interruptions are scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with most areas expected to be without electricity between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., although some locations will experience shorter outage periods depending on the region.
Mt Kenya Region
In Nyeri County, electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Milimani, Perosa, Goldmine Crushers and surrounding areas. Affected customers include Goldmine Crusher, Milimani Crusher, Kirinyaga Construction Crusher, Roben Aberdare Crusher, Perosa Crusher, Mwangi Mugeci and nearby areas. The interruption will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Parts of Kirinyaga County including Rukanga, Riandira and Rapid Camp will also be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas listed include Rukanga, Riandira, Magunas Godown, Kwa-V, Thanju, Rainsun Nuts, Hcda, Rapid Camp, Resort Village, Jungaleman and adjacent customers.
In Embu County, power will be interrupted in parts of Kotololoni, Mulukusi and Makima between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Kanyonga, Ngecha, Makima, Kamwea, Mbondoni Safaricom, Mbondoni Market, Unguni, Kathuyani, Ndunguni, Mwanyani, Urua, Mburutani, Kitololoni, Mwanjo, Ndune, Mulukusi and surrounding areas.
Coast Region
In the Coast region, parts of Kilifi County, specifically Watamu, will experience power interruptions from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Blue Moon, Dabaso Sita and adjacent customers.
North Rift Region
In Uasin Gishu County, parts of Sergoit, Chepkoilel Secondary School, Kaplamai and Tugen Estate will be affected from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
In Nandi County, electricity supply will be interrupted in Cheribisi from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., while parts of Aldai including Koyo Tea Factory and Ndurio Market will also be affected during the same hours. Areas in Belekenya will experience a shorter interruption from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
Western Region
In Kisumu County, power will be interrupted in areas around Farm Engineering and Riat Safaricom Booster between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Affected locations include Farm Engineering, Royal Switz Hotel, Riat Bukna, Bukna Dance Park Kapok and Kiboswa Safaricom Booster.
Parts of Vihiga County, including Bunyore TTC and Kilingili, will be without power from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Areas affected include Igunga, Haluombove, Vyalo Gold Mine, Ilungu, Bunyore TTC, Esirulo Market, Kilingili Market, Munjiti, parts of Musoli, Ikonjero, Mwihila Hospital, Misngo Hills and Safcom Booster.
South Nyanza Region
In Homa Bay County, electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Kandiege and Masogo between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Areas affected include Nyaola, Kandiege, Ngula, Kodula Bala, Opujo, Kajimo, Okiki Amayo, Masogo, Adhiro, Ouru, Kanyamfwa, Kotonje, Alum Beach, Ajigo and surrounding areas.
Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the interruption period.
