Turkana University College announces academic and administrative job vacancies

Turkana University College has announced a new recruitment drive targeting qualified professionals for academic, research, and administrative positions as the institution seeks to strengthen service delivery and expand its workforce.

The vacancies, advertised through the Office of the Deputy Principal for Administration, Finance and Planning, include opportunities for both experienced professionals and early-career academics.

Academic positions available

Among the positions advertised is a Lecturer in Public Health within the School of Science and Technology.

Applicants for the role must possess a PhD in Public Health or a related discipline from a recognised institution and have at least three years of teaching or research experience.

The university has also advertised positions for Tutorial Fellows and Graduate Trainees in the School of Education and Social Sciences.

According to the institution, the roles are aimed at supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while nurturing future academic staff through research, consultancy, and community engagement activities.

Candidates applying for Tutorial Fellow positions are required to hold at least a Master’s degree in Educational Technology or a related field and should be enrolled in a relevant PhD programme.

Graduate Trainee applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline, with preference given to candidates pursuing or holding a Master’s degree.

Accountant position also advertised

In the non-academic category, Turkana University College is seeking to recruit an Accountant II to support the institution’s financial management functions.

Applicants must possess either a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional qualifications such as CPA and demonstrated work experience.

University officials say the position is intended to strengthen financial operations and improve administrative efficiency.

  • National identification documents
  • Relevant testimonials and supporting documents

Applications should be addressed to the Deputy Principal (Administration, Finance and Planning) and delivered to the university’s offices in Lodwar.

Deadline for applications

Turkana University College has set July 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. as the deadline for receiving applications.
