Weekly weather forecast for 9th to 15th December

The Kenya Meteorological Department has revealed that most parts of the country are likely to be sunny and dry with occasional rainfall expected in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Rift Valley, the Coast, North-eastern and the South-eastern lowlands.

Daytime (maximum) average temperatures of more than 30°C are expected in the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya as well as over some parts of the South-eastern lowlands, the Rift Valley and the Highlands West of the Rift Valley,

Night-time (minimum) average temperatures are
expected to be less than 10°C in some parts of the
Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the
Rift Valley and in the vicinity of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Narok Counties which form the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley will experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night, with a likelihood of afternoon and night showers occurring over few places.

Turkana and Samburu Counties in North-western Kenya will experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley that include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi Counties will experience cloudy mornings, with a possibility of light rains over few places, giving way to sunny intervals. Occasional afternoon and night showers are likely over few places.

North-eastern Kenya formed by Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo Counties is expected to experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night, with a likelihood of morning rains and afternoon showers occurring over few places.

Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties as well as the inland parts of Tana-River County is scheduled for suunny intervals are during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night and occasional morning, afternoon and night showers in select areas.

Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties as well as the coastal parts of Tana-River County that form The Coast will experience sunny intervals during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
