3 Kenyan referees officiating today’s Matches in Morocco at the AFCON 2025

Three Kenyan referees will be in action today at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

Stephen Onyango Yiembe has been listed anong the match officials for the South Africa Vs Angola fixture, and will feature as an Assistant Referee in that Group B opener.

Peter Waweru Kamau joins his Kenyan counterpart in the South Africa Vs Angola game. He joins the officiating as a 4th Match Official with the game expected to be played at the Stadium of Marrakech.

Dickens Mimisa Nyagrowa will be responsible for VAR in the Egypt Vs Zimbabwe encounter at Grand Stadium of Agadir.

A total of 73 officials comprising 28 referees, 31 assistant referees, and 14 VAR officials have been appointed for AFCON 2025.

Kenya has a total of 4 matches officials in the tournament.

The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 kicked off in Morocco on 21 December, and will take place up to 18 January 2026.

The tournament features 24 national teams competing across six host cities of Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, Fez and Agadir.

Nine stadiums will be in use at Morocco.

Goals from B.Diaz and A. El Kaabi gave Morocco their first win in the opening fixture if the tournament in Group A.

During the opening ceremony at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, artists French Montana, Davido and RedOne took part in an electrifying performance dubbed “Le Show”
