Kenya Power announces planned electricity interruption in parts of Uasin Gishu on Saturday

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a planned electricity interruption scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, in parts of Uasin Gishu County as part of ongoing network maintenance works.

In a notice issued on Friday evening, the utility company said the temporary outage is intended to facilitate maintenance and improve reliability of power supply in the affected areas.

Areas Affected

According to Kenya Power, the interruption will affect parts of Kipkorgot Center and Carbacid in Uasin Gishu County from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas expected to experience the outage include:

  • Kipkorgot Center
  • Carbacid
  • Plateau
  • Plateau Hospital
  • Bible College
  • Kipsinende Farm
  • Adjacent customers

Kenya Power apologised for any inconvenience that may arise during the maintenance operation.

“The interruption is part of network maintenance. We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” the company said in a statement.

Customers Advised to Check Updated Schedules

KPLC further advised customers to regularly check the latest outage schedules through its online platforms and customer service chatbot, Nuru, for updates and assistance.

The company has continued carrying out scheduled maintenance works across different regions aimed at improving electricity reliability and stabilising the national power network.
