Kenya Power announces scheduled power interruptions in five counties on Friday

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect parts of five counties on Friday, June 26, 2026, as the utility company carries out routine maintenance on its power distribution network.

The scheduled outages are expected to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in most affected areas, although some locations in Mombasa County will have power restored earlier at 3:00 p.m.

Mt. Kenya Region

Laikipia County

Residents and businesses in Lamuria, Ngobit and Withare will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include Lamuria, Vegpro Farm, Kiambiriria, Karai Oltaveta, Ngobit, Sirma, Withare, Kahuruko, Kona Mbaya, Misiri and neighbouring customers.

Nyeri County

Power supply will also be interrupted in Kiamwathi and Giakanja between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect Red Court, Parts of Classic, Kiamwathi Market, Chorong’i C/Fact Kwa Magua, Miberethi, Giakanja Market, Kiunyu, Ikumbo, Karibaini, Giakanja C/Fact, Karicheni and adjacent areas.

Meru County

Laare and Mutuati

Customers in Laare and Mutuati will experience a scheduled outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Mutuati, Laare, Kambi Kairanya, Antubetwe Kiongo, Kieni Kia Muti, Karama Market, Nkoe, Athawene, Mea, Kanuni, Kamukuji, Nkamathi, Mariri, Njaikuriu, Tuuru Mission, Ithata, Kamweline and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Coast Region

Kwale County

Electricity supply will be interrupted in Samburu Town, Mwakijembe and Silaloni from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The maintenance will affect Samburu Town, Vigurungani, Banga, Mwakijembe, Kinagoni, Silaloni and nearby customers.

Mombasa County

Customers in Dida, Matano Manne and Bao Lala will experience a planned outage between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include Dida, Matano Manne, Vitengeni, Malanga, Bale, Bao Lala, Milore and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power advises customers

Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving the reliability and stability of electricity supply.

The utility company has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly and treat all power lines as live throughout the maintenance period, as electricity may be restored earlier than the published schedule once the work is completed.
