The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has opened nominations for the 2026 World Teachers’ Day Awards, giving teachers an opportunity to receive national recognition for outstanding contributions to education.
The awards will recognise teachers and education leaders who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, innovation, leadership and impact in improving teaching and learning across Kenya.
Who can apply for the awards?
Teachers can nominate themselves for the 2026 awards. Members of the public and fellow teachers can also nominate educators whose work has made a significant difference in their schools and communities.
The awards will be held under the theme “Twawaenzi Walimu – Mashujaa Wetu”, meaning “We honour teachers – our heroes.”
The initiative is part of the annual World Teachers’ Day celebrations held on October 5 to recognise the contribution of teachers to society and national development.
