KeNHA in Hunt for New Staff, but the Public is Warned: Don’t Get Caught in a Scam!-Top News

Date:

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has thrown open its doors to jobseekers, advertising a raft of new positions in a move to bolster its workforce and, as they say, “effectively carry out its mandate.”

But while the recruitment drive is seen as a welcome sign of opportunity, a shadow of caution hangs over the process. Authorities are warning the public to be vigilant and only apply through official channels to avoid falling victim to online scams that often plague such high-profile job openings.

KeNHA, the state agency responsible for managing, developing, rehabilitating, and maintaining the nation’s vital road networks, has announced vacancies for roles including Assistant Office Administrator II and Driver I. The official deadline for applications is fast approaching, with hopefuls given until Monday, October 13, 2025, to submit their documents.

Sources say the recruitment is part of a broader strategy to streamline operations and enhance efficiency, a crucial step as the country’s infrastructure projects continue to expand. The job advertisement, which can be found on the authority’s website, outlines the specific qualifications and experience required for each role.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

Assistant Office Administrator II The purpose of this job is to provide administrative and secretarial services, ensuring the smooth operation of office activities and serving as the link between the Authority and stakeholders. Key requirements for the position include:

  • A Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) Stages I, II, and III.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • A Certificate in Customer Care from a recognized institution.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.

Driver I The purpose of this job is to drive Authority vehicles, carry out routine checks on the vehicles’ cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, and report any defects in a timely manner. Key requirements for the position include:

  • A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent.
  • A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for the class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to drive.
  • Completion of a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one week from a recognized institution.
  • A cumulative period of six (6) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of a Driver II or a comparable position.

How to Apply All candidates who meet the requirements detailed in the job specifications should address their applications to: The Director General, Kenya National Highways Authority, Barabara Plaza, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Off Airport South Road, along Mazao Road, P.O. Box 49712 – 00100 Nairobi.

The applications, clearly quoting the reference number for the position, should be hand-delivered and inserted in the recruitment box located on the 2nd Floor, Block A (Outside the Human Resource Management Department Office).

In a country where job scams are a constant threat, KeNHA’s emphasis on a physical application process serves as a stark warning to jobseekers. The public is advised to disregard any offers or solicitations that ask for money in exchange for a job, and to be wary of unofficial websites or social media pages posing as the legitimate authority.

As the deadline looms, thousands of Kenyans are expected to flock to the KeNHA offices, clutching their resumes and hoping for a chance to contribute to the nation’s development. But this time, it’s not just about getting the job—it’s about staying safe from the fraudsters lurking in the shadows.
