JOB ADVERT: Digital& print graphics designer needed

We are seeking a highly creative Digital and Print Graphics Designer to join our newsroom team. The ideal candidate is versatile, fast, digitally savvy, and deeply familiar with the demands of digital news production, weekly ePaper workflows, and monthly newspaper layout and design. You should be able to transform ideas into clear, compelling visuals across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

-Design and lay out weekly ePapers and monthly newspaper editions.

-Create fast, accurate and visually engaging daily digital posters and news graphics.

-Produce expressive social media visuals and distribute them across digital platforms.

-Create video slides, simple animations, and other digital renderings.

-Illustrate and animate ideas and concepts into simple, easy-to-understand visual forms.

-Work closely with editors and reporters to translate stories into strong visual narratives.

-Contribute fresh, out-of-the-box visual ideas for breaking news, features and special projects.

-Work independently, managing multiple tasks and tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

-Maintain an active digital presence and understand best practices for online visual distribution.

Requirements

-Considerable proof of ability in both digital and print graphics design.

-Strong skills in layout design, ePaper production, and visual storytelling.

-Ability to create clean, expressive, high-impact graphics quickly.

-Competence in basic animation, motion graphics, and digital video slides.

-Creative thinker with excellent attention to detail and strong time-management skills.

-Familiarity with social media visual formats and digital distribution channels.

-Practical knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, illustrator and Canva.

Compensation
Starting salary: KSh 30,000 per month.
