Nakuru county announces 85 job vacancies across key departments

The Nakuru County Government has announced 85 job vacancies across multiple departments, offering opportunities for qualified Kenyans in the education, ICT, communication, and health sectors.

In a notice issued on April 15, the Nakuru County Public Service Board invited applications from eligible candidates, citing its mandate under Article 235 of the Constitution and the County Governments Act.


Opportunities span education, ICT and health sectors

The majority of the vacancies are in the Department of Education, particularly for youth polytechnic instructors, alongside several ICT and public communication roles.

Positions advertised include ICT Officer I and III, Public Communication Officer I and III, and a significant number of Youth Polytechnic Instructor III slots.

In the Department of Health Services, the county has also announced a vacancy for a Radiographer I position.

The recruitment drive reflects the county’s efforts to strengthen service delivery in key sectors, especially education and digital transformation.


Application process and deadline

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the county’s official online portal, where they can review job descriptions, qualifications, and requirements before applying.

Candidates must fill in their personal and academic details accurately and upload all necessary supporting documents before submitting their applications online.

The county government has set May 6, 2026, as the deadline for all applications, emphasizing that only submissions made through the official portal will be considered.


Warning against fraudsters

As the recruitment process begins, the County Public Service Board has issued a strong warning to applicants to remain vigilant against fraudsters.

The board reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on corruption and cautioned against individuals who may solicit money in exchange for promises of securing employment.

“We caution applicants not to fall victim to fraudsters and impersonators who solicit for money with a promise of influencing the outcome,” the notice stated.

Authorities further clarified that all official communication will be conducted through verified county channels, urging the public to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.


Push to enhance public service delivery

The hiring initiative comes as Nakuru County seeks to boost capacity in critical sectors and improve service delivery to residents.

By expanding its workforce in education, healthcare, and ICT, the county aims to support development programmes and strengthen public institutions.
