Several government agencies have announced new job opportunities for qualified Kenyans, with vacancies available at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).
The vacancies were published through the government’s MyGov platform on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with applicants required to meet specific academic, professional and application requirements.
EPRA advertises Director General position
EPRA is seeking to recruit a Director General who will provide strategic leadership and oversee regulation across Kenya’s electricity, petroleum, renewable energy and other energy sectors.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens and hold a bachelor’s degree in fields such as engineering, physical sciences, law, finance, environmental studies, economics or energy.
Candidates are also required to have at least seven years of senior management experience, including a minimum of two years’ experience in the petroleum and energy sector.
Applications for the position should be submitted by email to dgrecruitment2026@epra.go.ke by 5pm on September 9, 2026.
KNEC announces senior positions
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has advertised several external vacancies, including positions for Director, Assessments Administration and Director, Research, Quality Assurance and Planning.
Applicants are required to submit the prescribed KNEC employment form together with an application letter, certified copies of academic and professional certificates and a detailed curriculum vitae.
The applications should reach the Chief Executive Officer at New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi, by September 1, 2026.
Applicants have been advised to consult the KNEC website for detailed information on the advertised positions and eligibility requirements.
KNH seeks medical specialists
Kenyatta National Hospital has also announced vacancies for specialists in several medical fields.
The advertised positions include Chief Medical Specialist in Diabetes and Endocrinology, as well as Medical Specialist positions in Neurology, Paediatric Pulmonology, Paediatric Gastroenterology, Pain and Palliative Care, Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Applications must be submitted through the hospital’s prescribed recruitment process or delivered to the KNH Central Registry by September 7, 2026.
KNH has reminded applicants that it does not charge any fee for job applications and that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
KeNHA advertises permanent jobs
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has invited applications for positions offered on permanent and pensionable terms.
Applicants are required to apply through the recruitment link provided on the authority’s website.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on September 8, 2026.
Successful applicants will be required to satisfy Chapter Six requirements and provide the necessary clearance certificates, including those from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), National Police Service and a Credit Reference Bureau.
