The Ministry of Education has released the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results for Grade 9 learners who sat their exam between October 27th and November 3rd, 2025. Students can now access their performance records online and review the senior secondary schools they qualify for.
This national exam determines the transition from junior to senior secondary under the Competency-Based Curriculum. The assessment contributes 60% of a learner’s final grade, while the remaining 40% comes from school-based evaluations completed throughout the year.

Learners are expected to begin choosing senior secondary pathways, including STEM, Arts and Sports Science, Social Sciences, and Technical or Vocational training.. The Ministry has assured parents that all eligible learners will receive placement and urged teachers and counsellors to guide students through the selection process.
Today’s release of KJSEA results marks a key step in the country’s ongoing rollout of the CBC and the shift to a more holistic evaluation system.
