Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026, to allow for routine maintenance and network upgrades across several regions.

The outages will affect parts of Nairobi, Nyandarua, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Nyeri, and Kirinyaga counties, with customers advised to plan accordingly.
In Nairobi County, the interruption will affect the whole of Mpweke Lane from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas impacted include Total South B, parts of Kapiti Road, the entire Mpweke Lane and adjacent customers.
In the Central Rift Region, parts of Nyandarua County will be affected. Power will be off in Engineer, Ndunyu Njeru and Njambini areas between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. The affected locations include the whole of Engineer, Murangaru, Turasha Memo, Kirathimo, Chuma, Thindi, Munyaka, the whole of Njambini, Sasumua Dam, Soilo, Kinamba, Yanga, Ndinda, Karima Girls, NYS Naivasha, and adjacent customers.
In the North Rift Region, Uasin Gishu County will experience interruptions in Kipkenyo and Simat areas from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Affected places include Kipkenyo Primary School, Eldowas Sewage, Liberty School, Tuiyo, St. Theresa of Avilla, Lemook Soko, and surrounding customers.
Also in the North Rift, parts of Nandi County will be without power from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected areas are Kapkatagaron, Kilibwoni, Tulon Quarry, Centre Kwanza, and adjacent customers.
In the Mt. Kenya Region, Nyeri County will see outages in Solio Ranch and Solio Water Pump areas between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Areas affected include Solio Ranch, Solio Water Pump, Solio Lodge, Solio Cattle Dip, Solio Village, and nearby customers.
Lastly, parts of Kirinyaga County will also be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas scheduled for interruption include Makutano, Mutithi and Mwea. Specific locations listed are Nice Rice Millers, Anmatr/Millers, Mutithi, P.I Mwea, Kamweli, Makutano, Winpride, Kirwara, Makawani, Kikumini, Gitaraka, Karaba, Wango, Kaseve, Bonzuki, Ndidiriku, Kiumbu, Kyasuni, Musingine, Kaseve, Gaturi, Kiwotha, Makongeni, Nthingine, Riakanau, Ciagini Iria Itune, and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to take necessary precautions during the interruption period, noting that supply will be restored as soon as maintenance works are completed.
