The Kenya Power has announced scheduled power maintenance outages affecting multiple regions across the country on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The utility company said the planned interruptions will run between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., depending on the location, as part of routine maintenance to improve electricity reliability and network stability.
Nairobi and central regions affected
In Nairobi, parts of Parklands including 4th and 5th Parklands, Wangapala Road, Masari Road, and sections near Diamond Plaza and Sky Mall will experience outages throughout the day.
In the Central Rift region, areas in Gilgil within Nakuru County such as Diatomite, Kikopey, and Elementaita will also be affected.
Meanwhile, parts of Limuru Town in Kiambu County, including Ngaraiga, Nyambare, and Mureng’eti, have been listed among areas to face interruptions.
Mt Kenya region to experience outages
In the Mt Kenya region, several counties will be affected, including Meru, Nyeri, and Embu.
In Meru County, power will be interrupted in Gitimbene and Kariene areas, covering locations such as Gitoro, Kaguma, and Nkubu Technical.
Nyeri County will see outages in Ark Lodge, Amboni, Bondeni, Kariko, Gichami, and Mucharage areas, affecting residential estates, schools, and market centres.
In Embu County, areas including Machang’a, Iramurai, Mbondoni, and Makima will also experience power cuts during the scheduled hours.
Coast region also listed
At the Coast, parts of Likoni in Mombasa County will be affected, including Mrima Primary, Pungu Villa, and surrounding estates.
Kenya Power noted that the maintenance exercise is necessary to facilitate network upgrades and ensure efficient electricity supply across the affected regions.
Advisory to customers
The company has advised customers in the listed areas to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the outage period.
Power supply is expected to be restored immediately after the completion of the maintenance works.
