Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power maintenance exercise set to take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, affecting selected areas in Nairobi, Kiambu, and Mombasa counties.

In a notice issued on Wednesday evening, the utility company said the planned outage is part of routine system maintenance aimed at improving reliability and efficiency of electricity supply.

In the Nairobi region, power interruptions will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in parts of Runda, including Runda Drive, Ruaka Grove, Mimosa Road, Mimosa Vale, and surrounding areas near the Northern Bypass towards Two Rivers.

Sections of Kaloleni Estate, including Ojimbo, Kaloleni Primary School, St. John Primary School, and areas along Jogoo Road, will also be affected during the scheduled maintenance period.

In Kiambu County, several areas in Limuru and Tigoni are expected to experience outages within the same time frame. Affected locations include Karanjee, Tigoni Hospital, Tigoni Police Station, Limuru Golf Club, and St. Paul’s University.

Other areas such as Brown Cheese, KARLO, Shira Farm, and surrounding residential zones have also been listed among those that will experience temporary power disruption.

In the Coast region, planned maintenance will affect parts of Mombasa County, particularly in Shimanzi and Makande Road.

Key facilities expected to be impacted include Vivo Energy Kenya, East Africa Terminals Limited, Gulf Gas Wholesalers, and the Port Fire Station, alongside nearby businesses and residences.
