Kenya Power announces planned electricity interruptions in three counties today

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Kakamega, Uasin Gishu and Kwale counties today, as the utility company undertakes routine maintenance works on its power network.

According to the notice, the scheduled outages will affect customers in selected areas within the Western, North Rift and Coast regions for several hours during the day.

Kakamega County

In the Western Region, customers in parts of Khwisero Constituency will experience power interruptions from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas expected to be affected include Mulwanda, Khwisero, Khumsalaba, Eshikhuyu, Khwisero Technical, Shikunga, Khumailo and neighbouring customers.

Uasin Gishu County

In the North Rift Region, Kenya Power said electricity supply will be interrupted in parts of Nasianda and Mirembe from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The outage will affect Nasianda, Mirembe, Mumba Village, Makokha Market, Kisigame and adjacent areas.

Kwale County

Several areas in Kwale County under the Coast Region will also be affected by the planned maintenance exercise.

Samburu and Taru

Residents and businesses in Samburu, Taru and surrounding areas will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Diani Beach Road

Customers along Diani Beach Road including Carrefour, Swahili Beach, Diani Shopping Centre, Simba Village, Chandarana and nearby areas are also expected to experience outages during the same period.

Mrima and Lungalunga

Power supply interruptions will further affect Mrima, Bumbuni, Mwashetani, Mwangwei, Kenya Loma, Horohoro Border Post, Lungalunga Market and Lungalunga Hospital.

Kenya Power Advises Customers to Plan Ahead

Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving reliability and stability of electricity supply.

The utility company advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled outages.
