The Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance affecting several areas in Nandi, Nyeri and Kwale counties on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the utility company, the scheduled power interruptions will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. as technicians carry out maintenance works aimed at improving electricity reliability and stabilising the power network in the affected regions.
Nandi County Areas to Be Affected
In the North Rift region, the maintenance exercise will affect parts of Nandi County, specifically Kombe, Kipchabo and Kapkatet areas.
Residents and businesses in the affected zones are expected to experience power interruptions throughout the day alongside nearby customers connected to the same electricity line.
Nyeri County Maintenance Schedule
In the Mt Kenya region, Kenya Power announced that electricity supply will be interrupted in Wandumbi and Kamahoru areas of Nyeri County.
Areas expected to be affected include Wandumbi School, Wandumbi Special School, Kamahoru TBC and adjacent customers.
Kwale County Areas Listed
At the Coast region, planned maintenance will affect Melikubwa and Mackinon Road areas in Kwale County.
Kenya Power said customers within the listed areas and neighbouring locations connected to the affected lines should prepare for temporary outages during the maintenance period.
Customers Advised to Plan Ahead
The company advised customers to treat all electricity lines as live during the maintenance exercise and encouraged residents and businesses to make early arrangements to minimise disruptions.
Kenya Power has continued conducting scheduled maintenance works across different regions as part of efforts to improve power distribution efficiency, reduce outages and support growing electricity demand across the country.
