Kenya Power announces planned electricity maintenance in five counties today, June 22

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance works in parts of Nairobi, Kwale, Kisii, Nyeri, and Meru counties on Monday, June 22, 2026.

The utility company said the planned maintenance will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting several residential areas, institutions, and businesses as engineers carry out network upgrades and routine system maintenance.

Nairobi County

Area: Parts of Kitsuru

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Areas set to be affected include:

  • Tate Close
  • Kitsuru Road
  • Forward Close
  • Adjacent customers

Kisii County

Area: Ibencho, Nyamasege

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include:

  • Nyakoiba
  • Ibencho
  • Nyansara
  • Openda
  • Eburi
  • Nyamasege
  • Kiagware
  • Nyaimera
  • Nyansakia
  • Kona Yonduko
  • Adjacent customers

Nyeri County

Area: Wambugu Farm, Kagumo

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period. The utility noted that power may be restored earlier than scheduled if works are completed ahead of time.
