Kenya Power announces planned maintenance in Nairobi and Kisii on February 27

Kenya Power has issued a scheduled maintenance notice affecting parts of Nairobi and Kisii counties today, Friday, February 27, 2026.

The planned works, set to run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., are part of routine system maintenance aimed at improving network reliability and ensuring stable electricity supply.

Areas affected in Nairobi Region

In the Nairobi Region, customers in parts of Parklands will experience power interruption during the day.

The affected locations include Avenue Hospital, parts of 2nd and 3rd Avenue, Westgate area, Jararam Road, sections of Mpaka Road, parts of Masari Road, Citam Church, Acculaser and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power has also scheduled maintenance along Nyeri Road and Makueni Road and surrounding areas.

Customers along Nyeri Road, Mwingi Road, Kikambala Road, Makueni Road, Mazerus Road, Vihiga Road, Kaputei Gardens, Hamisi Road and neighbouring premises are expected to be without electricity during the maintenance window.

The utility company says the interruptions are necessary to facilitate upgrades and preventive works on the distribution network.

Parts of Kisii County to experience outage

In the South Nyanza Region, parts of Kisii County, specifically Gesusu and Masimba areas, will also be affected.

The outage will impact parts of Gesonso, Kiaruta Dispensary, Waterpark area, Citam Church, Matongo, St. Peter’s School, Nyawekoa and surrounding customers.

Kenya Power noted that the maintenance is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the grid and enhance service delivery across the country.

Advisory to customers

Customers in the affected areas are advised to plan accordingly and treat all power lines as live during the outage period. The company typically restores electricity earlier than scheduled if works are completed ahead of time.

Kenya Power continues to carry out periodic maintenance across various regions to improve supply stability and support growing demand.
