Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance works across several regions of the country on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, as part of efforts to improve service reliability and upgrade network infrastructure.
The scheduled interruptions will affect parts of Kiambu, Kilifi, Bomet, Bungoma, Kakamega, Nyamira, Nyeri, Nairobi, Kajiado and Nakuru counties at different times during the day.
In most areas, power supply will be interrupted between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., while some locations will experience outages from 8.00 a.m.
Areas affected in Kiambu and Nairobi Regions
In Kiambu County under the North Eastern Region, power will be interrupted in parts of Murera Sisal, Jujafarm and Athi areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas set to be affected include Murera Sisal, Matangi-Ni, Hamundia, Theta, PCEA, Matangi, Magomano, Ndarasha, Ndururumo, Ruiriro, Pherie, Mathitima, Karia, Ngomatubu, Corner Brook, KPP Production, Space & Style, St. Dominic School, Mastores, Abba Salama, Chai Road, Kirathimo, Tumaini, Muhaka, Jujafarm Market, Jujafarm Polytechnic, Gikumari, Air Harries kwa Mzungu, Nyumba ya Wazee, Mungetho Juja Farm, Wamuini, Zone P, Mwireri, Mumba and adjacent customers.
In Nairobi Region, parts of Kibera Drive and Kabarnet Road will experience outages from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Affected areas include DC Kibera, Kichinjio, Kibera Lindi, Kibera Law Courts, Huduma Center, Makina Mosque, Kambi Muru, Kibera Mashimoni, Mashimoni Primary School, parts of Kisumu Ndogo, Sunday Studio and Kibera Gatwekera.
Parts of Rongai, Church Road and Matasia in Kajiado County will also be affected within the same timeframe. Areas include parts of Magadi Road, Total, Shell, Laiser Hill Academy, Olerai School, Kware Market, Nairobi Women and Fatima Hospital and nearby customers.
Coast, Western and South Nyanza Regions
In Kilifi County, Coast Region, power will be interrupted in KBC Marekebuni, Marafa, Garashi, Wakala, Pumwani and GIS areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The outage will also affect Watamu and Gede areas including Watamu Village, Casino Watamu, Fragola, Seven Island, Watamu Police, Timboni, Jimba, Dabaso, Blue Bay, Peponi, Watamu Mall, Natural Mente Pane, Snake Farm and Watamu Posta.
In Western Region, parts of Bungoma County including Webuye and Kimilili will experience outages in Namawanga, Kambini, Wenyila, Kimilili, Kamtiong, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Kamasielo, Kibieto Namakhele and Cheromisand.
In Kakamega County, power will be interrupted in Kakamega and Shikoti areas including Shikoti Mission, Shikoti Market, Lower Ingotse Market, Maraba, Esumeiya, Lwanda Shop, Meteological Site, Lurambi Primary, Lukume Market, Shihome Secondary and Shikutse Market.
In Nyamira County under the South Nyanza Region, Birongo and Mongoni areas will be affected from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. including Nyankoba Tea Factory, One Hen Project, Birongo Market, Nyasore Market, Mongoni, Amabuko, Geteni Dispensary and Secondary School.
Central Rift and Mt. Kenya Regions
In Bomet County, parts of Sotik and Gorgor will experience power interruption from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., affecting Gorgor Booster, Gelegele Secondary, Kelonget Water, Kaplomboi Market, Kaplelach Market, Kamukunji Market, Kweleta Market, Kapchumbe Secondary and Market, and Kapsosurwa Secondary.
In Nakuru County, parts of Mogotio and Lake Bogoria will experience outages from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., including Ravine Junction, Dale Flora, Kipsyenan, Mauade, Sarambei, Athinai Sisal Factory, Soin Hospital, Mogotio, Equator, Alphega Sisal Factory, Lomolo Sisal, Majani Mingi Sisal, Kipkitur, Mugurin, Emsos and Lake Bogoria Gate.
In Nyeri County under the Mt. Kenya Region, Ndima and Kiangai areas will experience interruptions from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting multiple markets, tea buying centres, villages and Safaricom and Airtel booster stations.
Kenya Power has advised customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly during the maintenance period. The company says the scheduled works are necessary to enhance network reliability and improve quality of electricity supply.
