Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Nyeri and Kirinyaga counties on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to facilitate routine maintenance and system upgrades.
The utility said the scheduled outages will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in most affected areas as part of ongoing efforts to improve reliability and enhance service delivery.
Parts of Kisii County
Kiaruta, Matongo, Nyawekoa
Customers in parts of Gesonso, Kiaruta Dispensary, Waterpark, Citam Church, Matongo, St. Peters School, Nyawekoa and adjacent areas will experience power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Parts of Migori County
Ochuna, Olando
The outage will affect Ochuna Market, Kanga Onditi, Kae Primary School, Chemachichi Primary School, Olando Primary School and surrounding customers between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
Parts of Homa Bay County
Kandiege, Masogo
In Homa Bay County, areas set to experience power interruption include Nyaola, Kandiege, Ngula, Kodula, Bala, Opujo, Kajimo, Okiki Amayo, Masogo, Adhiro, Ouru, Kanyamfwa, Kotonje, Alum Beach, Ajigo and adjacent customers.
The outage will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Parts of Nyeri County
Gikondi Market
Residents and businesses around Thunguri Coffee Factory, Nduma, Mukurweini Technical, Sister Irene Secondary School, Muthuthini, Kamuchuni, Kaharo, Kibutio and neighbouring areas will also be without electricity from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Parts of Kirinyaga County
Difathers Market
In Kirinyaga County, areas affected include Difathers, Kamunyange, Togonye Primary School, Kajiji, Kathiriku, parts of Riagicheru, parts of Kitharaini, Karuangi, Mugamba Ciura Village and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power has advised customers to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period. The company noted that supply will be restored immediately upon completion of the scheduled works.
