Kenya Power announces today’s electricity interruptions across several counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions affecting several areas across Nairobi, Coast, North Eastern and North Rift regions on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The utility company said the planned outages will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. to allow for maintenance and network improvement works.

Nairobi Region

Parts of Runda – Nairobi North

Areas expected to experience electricity interruption include Trio Estate, Rossyline Green, the Switzerland Embassy and adjacent customers.

Coast Region

Parts of Majengo Kanamai – Kilifi County

Areas affected include Mvita Oils, Indomie, Majengo Mapya, Mwatundo, Kwa Kanyi, Khosla Farm, Kikambala Housing, North Coast Medical, Bomani Pentagon, Bomani Dispensary, Bomani Kireme, Chess Kenya, Ashton EPZ, Tropical Sealife, Oasis Hospital, Petrocity Kanamai, Africa Fuels, Jodari Millers, Fuhuha EPZ, parts of Mzambaruni and Mtwapa.

Lungalunga – Kwale County

Areas expected to be affected include Mrima, Lungalunga Airstrip, Mkuduru, Marenje, Kutoka Ardhini, Kenya Loma, Lungalunga Town, Horohoro Border Post, Lungalunga Market and Lungalunga Hospital.

North Eastern Region

Kiomo, Nguutani, Kavaini and Kanyaa – Kitui County

The outage will affect Kiomo, Uvaita, Maiyuni, Kavanini, Mbakini, Kwa Muthusi, Nguutani, Kakululo, Thitani, Mathunzini and Kanyaa areas.

North Rift Region

Chemoset and Kabobo – Uasin Gishu County

Residents in Chemoset, Kabobo Farm, Silgich and Mogoiywet areas are also expected to experience electricity interruptions during the scheduled maintenance period.

Kenya Power usually carries out planned maintenance works to upgrade power lines, connect new customers and improve reliability of electricity supply across the country.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly during the interruption period.
