Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of six counties on Monday, September 7, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled power maintenance.
The planned maintenance will affect parts of Nairobi, Bomet, Siaya, Migori, Nyeri and Meru counties, with the duration of the outages varying depending on the affected area.
Some customers will experience interruptions for up to eight hours, while others will have shorter outages.
Below is the full list of areas scheduled for power interruption on Monday, September 7.
Nairobi County
United Nation area — 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Customers in UN Crescent Road, Limuru Road, Gigiri Road and adjacent areas will experience an electricity interruption.
Bomet County
Koiwa, Sotit and Kobel — 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Koiwa Market, Kipkoibet Market, Kobel Market, Sotit Market, Satiet Market, Rorok T/Factory, Kobel Factory, Siomo T/Factory, Kaptebengwet Market, Ndalelai Market and Embomos, as well as adjacent customers.
Siaya County
Sawagongo — 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The interruption will affect Muhanda Market, Rawalo, Nyawara Girls, Sawagongo High School, Luri Primary School, Nango Gonad Primary School, Gongo Resource Centre and adjacent customers.
Migori County
Uriri, Stella — 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected customers include those in Uriri, Kanyakech, Kolwal, Oyani Center, Oyani Water, Siro Girls, Bware, Achuth, Edemba, Kamsaki, Senta Garage, Stellah, Magongo, Mukuyu, Kakrao, God Jope, Kona Kowanga, Chambombe, Nyasare Injiris, Kimadui and GOTV, together with adjacent customers.
Nyeri County
Kangaita, Mirichu — 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The planned outage will affect Eucabeth Secondary School, Gondo, Kangaita Market, Gaki Secondary School, Mirichu Primary School and adjacent customers.
Meru County
Kariene Market, Gatimbi Market — 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The affected areas include Gikumene Secondary School, Kirige Secondary School, Woodlands Nursing Hospital, Mutharene Market, Igane Health Centre, Ruiga Primary School, Nkando Secondary School, Elbohay Investment, Mwanthigia, Magundu, Njuthine, Kaongo, Mjapone, Kirwiro Community, Ngonyi Market, Mwankware C/Factory, Kirigara Secondary School, Mukiria Polytechnic, Nyweri Village, Black Africa and Kairebi Secondary School, together with adjacent customers.
Customers advised to prepare
Customers in the listed areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements for the planned interruption and to treat all electrical installations as live until power is fully restored.
