IShowSpeed emerged as the day’s top trend, holding the number one position for 24 hours with an estimated 220,000 posts out of 4.3 million total mentions.
The American streamer rolled through Nairobi in a convoy that drew unprecedented crowds, at times bringing traffic to a standstill and pushing his livestream to a peak of 240,000 concurrent viewers and more than 8.5 million total views. The visit triggered a surge in his global following, pushing his subscriber count past 48 million, with an estimated 230,000 to 360,000 new subscribers attributed to Kenyan viewers alone—an emotional milestone he marked tearfully during a helicopter ride over the capital.
CHAOS AND SOFT POWER
Beyond the spectacle, the livestream blended fan chaos with soft-power moments: visits to local markets, the naming of a baby rhino “Rhinaldo,” an encounter with towering Kenyan Bradley Marongo, and official engagements with tourism authorities and President William Ruto.

Government messaging under the banner “Forging Onwards” trended fourth, anchored by #GOKThisWeek. Posts highlighted President Ruto’s early-year development push, including coordinated action against illicit alcohol, the upgrading of more than 700 kilometres of roads in Baringo County at a reported cost of Sh39 billion, and progress on the Bomas International Convention Complex.
