The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has invited Form Four leavers from the years 2000 to 2024 to apply for placement to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the March 2026 intake,
The opportunities are expected to open pathways for thousands of candidates seeking careers in the health sector.
In a notice issued through the Government Advertising Agency, KUCCPS said the application window targets both recent and past secondary school graduates who meet the minimum entry requirements for medical training programmes offered by KMTC across its campuses nationwide. The move comes amid sustained demand for trained health professionals as the government continues to expand primary healthcare and universal health coverage.
REQUIRTEMENTS
All applications must be submitted online through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal at students.kuccps.ac.ke. Applicants are required to log in using their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index number, examination year and a password, which for first-time users is typically their birth certificate number. Once logged in, candidates can view available courses, select preferred programmes and institutions, and submit their applications electronically.
The deadline for applications is January 27, 2026, with KUCCPS urging eligible candidates to apply early to avoid last-minute congestion on the system.

KMTC offers a wide range of certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes in health sciences. These include nursing, clinical medicine, medical laboratory sciences, pharmaceutical technology, community health, nutrition and dietetics, health records and information technology, environmental health sciences, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dental technology and radiography, among others.
Entry requirements vary by course, with competitive programmes such as nursing and clinical medicine typically attracting higher cut-off points.
ADMISSION LETTERS
KUCCPS said placement will be based on available capacity, applicants’ KCSE performance and course-specific requirements. Successful candidates will receive placement notifications through the KUCCPS portal, after which they will be required to download admission letters and report to their assigned KMTC campuses in March 2026.
The placement exercise marks a continuation of KUCCPS’s expanded mandate, which now includes coordination of admissions to medical training institutions alongside universities, teacher training colleges and technical and vocational education institutions.
OFFICIAL CHANNELS
Prospective applicants have been advised to carefully review course requirements, ensure their personal details are accurate, and seek guidance from the KUCCPS portal and official communication channels. KUCCPS warned candidates against using unverified agents, noting that the entire application process is conducted online and free of charge.
The KMTC intake is expected to attract strong interest, reflecting the growing appeal of healthcare careers and the sector’s central role in Kenya’s economic and social development.
