Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Nandi and Nyeri counties on Friday, July 3, 2026, to facilitate planned maintenance on the power distribution network.
The utility company said the temporary outages are necessary to allow engineers to carry out maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and stability of electricity supply.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to plan ahead as power will be unavailable for several hours during the maintenance period.

Area: King’ong’o GK Prison
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Kenya Power has urged customers in the affected areas to treat all electricity lines as live during the maintenance period, even when power is off.
The company also noted that electricity supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance works are completed, although restoration times may vary depending on the progress of the works.
