Kenya Power, areas without power on Tuesday March 10

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity maintenance that will affect several areas across Nairobi, Laikipia, Isiolo, Murang’a, Machakos and Baringo counties on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

The utility company said the planned outages are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the reliability and stability of electricity supply in the affected regions.

Nairobi and Machakos

In Nairobi County, power interruption will affect parts of Huruma from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., specifically sections along Juja Road and surrounding areas.

Other Nairobi neighbourhoods set to experience a blackout from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. include parts of Riruta and Waithaka. Areas likely to be affected include sections of Naivasha Road, Gathodeki, Naivasha Road Flats and St. John Catholic Riruta.

Additional locations include Precious Blood Riruta, parts of Ngina Road, Kawangware Timber Yard, Kawangware Law Courts, Kawangware DCC, Kawangware KBS, Kawangware 46 and Kawangware Market.

Parts of Kinyanjui Road, Ndurarua Primary School, Ndwaru Road, Kikuyu Road, Samwest, Nembu Primary and Nembu Girls will also be affected alongside Jerusalem, the DO’s Office in Waithaka, Mukarara Primary, Dagoretti High School, Maono Village and Nairobi Women’s Hospital College.

In Machakos County, the outage will affect areas along Kangundo Road from Joska to Nguluni between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

Affected locations include Joska, Mutalia, Kware, Malaa, Kantafu, KBC, Koma, Sunshine and Kenanie. Kenya Power also listed Kenanie Leather Industries, Bridgan, Ngalaya, Kwa Makau, Quickmart Joska and Kaseveni among the areas that will experience the interruption.

Other areas include Itere Road, Nimrod, Nguluni and all quarries and crushers at Muusini together with adjacent customers.

Laikipia, Murang’a and Isiolo Counties

In Laikipia County, power maintenance will affect Kiruri Market and Karurumo areas from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Areas expected to be affected include Kiruri Market, Gathaithi Market, Karurumo Market, Mununga High School, Ichichi Market and Karura Primary School.

Another outage will occur in Timau and Ngusishi from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. affecting Timau Market, Ngusishi Market, Kwa Nganga Market, Siraj Farm and Batian Farm.

Other affected locations include Big Flower Farm, Lolmalik Farm, Maritati Market, River Side, Kiambogo Market, Ethi Market and Ngara Ndare Market.

Also listed are Oldonyo Farm, Kirinyaga Seeds, Master Mind Farm, Timau River Lodge and Kiguru Market together with adjacent customers.

In neighbouring Murang’a County, Kiruri Market and surrounding areas will also experience a power interruption from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting Kiruri Market, Gathaithi Market, Karurumo Market, Mununga High School, Ichichi Market and Karura Primary School.
