Planned Kenya power maintenance to affect parts of Nairobi on May 8

Residents and businesses in several parts of Nairobi are set to experience planned power interruptions on Friday, May 8, 2026, as part of scheduled electricity maintenance works.

According to the notice, the planned outage will affect selected areas within the Nairobi Region from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Kilimani Road, Part of Ngong Road

Areas expected to be affected include parts of Elgeyo Marakwet Road, Kilimani Road, Ngong Road, Ndemi Road, Suna Road, Adams Arcade, Green House, Kirichwa Road, Menelik Road, and sections of Murang’a Road.

Other locations listed include Nairobi Women’s Hospital, KISM Offices along Ngong Road, Quickmart Kilimani, Dykio Ngong Road, Kirichwa Lane, Ndemi Lane, Morning Office Park, Ndemi Gardens, Jadala Investment and adjacent customers.

Businesses and residents in these areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements ahead of the interruption period.

Imara Daima Areas Also Affected

The maintenance exercise will also affect parts of Imara Daima between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Areas listed include parts of Villa Franca Estate, Tashcom Soko Market, Tsavo Gardens Apartments, Valeries Place, Scion Hospital, Elegant Apartments, Kenwood Court, Southern Apartments, Kings Millennium, Mukuru Health Centre, Kingswood Park Estate, Think Twice Imara and nearby customers.

The maintenance exercise is aimed at improving reliability and stability of electricity supply within the affected areas.

Residents Urged to Plan Ahead

Residents have been encouraged to charge essential devices in advance and businesses relying on electricity to plan operations accordingly during the outage period.
