Kenya Power has announced planned electricity supply interruptions in parts of seven counties on Tuesday, June 30, to facilitate routine maintenance and upgrades on its distribution network.
In a public notice issued on Monday, the utility company said the temporary outages are necessary to allow engineers to carry out maintenance works, connect new customers and replace ageing power infrastructure.
“Electricity supply will be interrupted in the listed areas to facilitate maintenance and upgrading of the power network, connection of new customers and replacement of power lines where necessary,” Kenya Power said.
The company noted that while some areas will experience brief interruptions lasting about an hour, others could remain without electricity for up to nine hours depending on the scope of the maintenance works.
Kenya Power advised residents, businesses and institutions in the affected locations to make the necessary arrangements to minimise disruption to their daily activities.

The company encouraged customers in the affected regions to plan ahead, especially businesses and institutions that rely heavily on uninterrupted electricity supply, until normal service is restored after completion of the maintenance works.
